Garden Hose Harvest Basket

garden hose harvest basket

I’m always looking for ways to upcycle and re-purposed worn out items in the garden. In my latest craft for HGTV Gardens, I turned a leaking garden hose into a harvest basket for the vegetable garden. Of course, it has many more uses including toting around garden tools, holding weeds and it even works as a nice place to corral and wash off your produce before bringing them into the kitchen. Natural Mosquito Repellent Bundles

Fresh dry herbs ready for bundling

We have been harvesting and drying herbs here. One of my favorite things that we enjoy making are these natural mosquito repellent bundles aka Bug Bombs. The kids named them. Sage, mint and lavender all naturally repel mosquitoes. We like to gather up these herbs and tie them together. We then add them to the fire to smolder and smoke away those biting pests.

Grow A Beer Garden

It’s hard to believe that Father’s Day is next weekend.  My husband is one of those people that it is impossible to shop for and the kids and I always rack our brains to find something that is perfect for him each year.  In our household, we always love to give at least one homemade gift on these special days.  The kids reminded me that the two things that Dad loves the best are coffee and beer!  My gears started turning and the kids and I decided to plant a Beer Garden for Dad!
