I’m gearing up to head out to Belton, Texas for this year’s Mother Earth News Fair. I’m super excited to be heading back to Texas this year. I can’t wait! I’ve been invited to share a few presentations as well as do a hands-on-workshop with some of the attendees. As you know I love crafting! Over the years, I’ve shared so many projects. This year at the fair, I’m excited to share with folks how to create your very own herbal and citrus apothecary garland.
This particular garland includes a variety of herbs, orange slices and the spice cinnamon. As most of you know already, these garland ingredients are not only beautiful but provide aromatherapy, are easily accessible ingredients for recipes, and provide nutritional value as well as offering support to the body. I love it when beauty and function combine.
This herbal and citrus apothecary garland is one of my winter favorites. I use the garlands around the house for decoration and function. They are so much fun and so versatile too! In this workshop, I will walk you through the process of using a food dehydrator for the orange slices. Then I will show you how to assemble and attach the items to create the garland. I love to hang the garlands in my kitchen, the bathroom and some I’ve even tailor made some for the chicken coop. But remember, no citrus for chickens.
When needed, I snip off the ingredients for whatever I need them for. For example, the citrus slices can be added to cooking, snacked on dry or even added to bath water for a citrus bath. I would love to have you come and make an herbal and citrus apothecary garland with me on Saturday at the Mother Earth News Fair in Texas. You can find all the sign up details here.
Will I see you at this year’s fair? Leave a comment below and let me know you are coming! Perhaps we can all meet up for an impromptu coffee or chat. See you soon!
