I love creating and I am super excited with you all to share that in addition to seeing me on HGTV and HGTV Gardens, I will now be a regular contributor to DIY Network’s Made + Remade! My first post that I did for them is how to create this gorgeous paper flower! I know. Yes, it looks super complicated but this paper wall flower came together so simply anyone, even the kids can make one at home with you. They’ll just need some assistance with the hot glue gun.
I created this for my daughter’s room. We had fun seeing it come together and we loved it so much that we might even make a few of these beauties in different colors to make a three dimensional piece of wall art for practically nothing.
I operated the glue gun and she helped me determine how we would place the petals on the flower. Working from the bottom up this beautiful paper dahlia emerged from rolled up sheets of card stock.
You can leave the paper wall flower plain or you can add a bit of spray paint to the flower’s tips to give it a real pop of color and an ombre sort of layering that is delightful for the eyes. You can find the rest of the complete tutorial here. Don’t forget to stay tuned. I’ve got some really cool posts coming up this year and I can’t wait to share them with you! Thanks for always coming along on my journeys with me. XO Melissa
