Garden Path: Mini Pumpkin Lanterns

It’s hard to believe that Halloween will be here in just about two weeks! Where has this year gone? A few weeks ago when I was hanging out at our local craft store looking for inspiration, I discovered that all the metal gardening hooks and planters were on sale for fifty percent off. Of course, I love a good bargain and I scooped up a few of these darling miniature shepherd’s hooks. Surely, they were versatile for use in my crafting adventures and also in the garden. In my mind, I had conjured up the most darling craft, pumpkin lanterns.

My next stop was food shopping at Whole Foods. Outside there was a plethora of pumpkins. Of course if you know me, I am an addict of all things pumpkin- fancy gourds, white, greens, pinks, cinderellas, warty and all. I’ll take one of each! I scooped up a few of these little cuties and got carving the pumpkin lanterns with the kids.
In no time, we had crafted a few carved pumpkin lantern friends to greet this year’s trick or treaters.
