My youngest daughter had a birthday party this past weekend. She had a few of her closest friends over to the house to make Puppy Pom Poms. The week prior we had so much fun getting the party together.
It was important for me to get everything ready prior to the girl’s arrival. I decided to use my vintage jadeite cake plates for the table’s centerpiece. I pre-made all the pom-poms.
I made small little doggie beds from felt and a bit of stuffing.
I made little dog houses from take-out containers. We randomly put one pom pom nose in each house. This let the girls know which color puppy there were going to make.
Then I put the ears, bows for the ears, beaded eyes, felt noses and tongues into their own dish.
Dollar store bracelets and scrapbook embellishments made the puppy collars.
A bin full of stickers was set out to keep the girls busy when they were waiting for help with their puppies. The girls happily designed their puppy homes with these.
We placed the puppies in their puppy houses to dry. Since the bottom cake plate was now empty of pom poms, I added them to the bottom cake plate. Then I moved the flowers to the top of the cake plate to make room below. I love the way the centerpiece transformed during the party.
This party was so much fun! Here’s a peek at some of their creations.

Thanks for hosting this link-up! I'm new here and am enjoying reading your blog and other's great ideas in their links!
How exciting to see my post 'Taking A BITE Out Of Your Grocery Budget" is being featured on the hop this week. There's been lots of interest lately on ways to lower grocery budgets and there are some really easy ways to do so if you just stop & think about it sometimes. Love the hop, thanks for hosting!

Are the very drugs we are taking to combat mental illness actually making us sick? That is one of the questions discussed in Anatomy of an Epidemic… and in this post, I discuss the book.
Thanks for hosting, and Happy Wednesday!

Thanks for hosting this hop – it's a new one for me. Somehow it had escaped my notice. for a long time, and I am glad I finally found it.

I LOVE your puppy party! We have a young pup and her most ardent attendant is my 5 year old daughter–if I could plan and execute as well as you she would absolutely love this. 🙂
That’s actually so cute how they’re into crafts. Any other kid would’ve gotten bored I think. I know I would’ve when I was younger 😛
My kids are huge crafters!
