Giveaway: Cinders-A Chicken Cinderella Story Tour Prize Package

December 6, 2013

I started reading Jan’s books to my children even before they could listen to the words. We gazed for hours at her illustrations. My children learned animal names from her books. Sometimes, my son would even make me flip back to the previous page to look and linger some more. Her attention to detail is amazing and she is truly an incredibly talented illustrator and writer. I have spent time with Jan at various poultry shows and have enjoyed visiting her flock.

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted to help out at the final stop on Jan Brett’s tour for her newest book, Cinders-A Chicken Cinderella Story. I love this book. In fact, she had me at the white Silkie Hen starring as the Fairy Godmother-just perfect!  I was excited to be representing backyard chicken along with a few other well known chicken bloggers. I made the two plus hour trek up to Milford, NH.

I handed out informational sheets on getting started with chickens, kept the kids busy with a bookmark craft while they waited in line, and chatted about backyard chickens with some chicken owners and those who were pondering a flock for the spring. I had a fabulous time! Jan gave a a lovely presentation in the auditorium and then she signed books for over two hours!

Of course, I did not forget about all of you and wanted to do a special giveaway of Jan Brett goodies!

This giveaway will include a signed copy of Cinders-A Chicken Cinderella Story, a book tour button, a brochure all about the book, and a signed name plate.

The brochure and button

Everytime we visit the library he always takes out any title including chickens, Louise, The Adventures of a Chicken [Kate DiCamillo, Harry Bliss] has come home so many times the librarian likely giggles as he approaches the counter with the book. 😀 charkbuvel@verizon.net

  6. My daughter attends school on the Air Force base and is the only one in her class to live on a "farm". Stories about our chickens and sheep thrill the class. This would definitely be a book I would take in to read to her class. Jan Brett books are fantastically illustrated. ~Amanda Geaney from Cabot, AR geaneymail@gmail.com
