Tree Slice Trivets

tree slice trivet

Hello friends! It is so hard to believe that October is half way done. My how the days are flying by. I’ve been busy getting started on some Thanksgiving crafts for HGTV Gardens. The week I’m sharing my tree slice trivets that I made from tree slices found at the craft store.

I love to decorate the dinner table for holidays. However the table didn’t always stay pretty. Typically on holidays past, once the food was ready for serving, out came a hodgepodge of assorted trivets and pot holders. Although they functioned nicely to protect the table, they certainly were not part of the decorative theme. I wanted this year to be different.I had a vision to create lovely tree slice trivets. These tree slice trivets are both pretty and functional. I even found a food safe way to seal them for use year after year!

When not in use, they can still be a decorative item on your table. Here I topped them with gourds while they wait for hot dishes to arrive.

If you are interested in making a few for your table this season, click on over to my post on HGTV Gardens for all of the DIY instructions.
