Heart Felted Pocket Handwarmers

February 6, 2013

If you are like me, you are no stranger to cold hands in the wintertime.  Despite my mittens and gloves my hands just have the most difficult time warming up.  I also have been known from time to time to dash out to the chicken coop forgetting my gloves.  One way that I try and fight the cold weather is by carrying these darling felted heart pocketwarmers in my coat.  With some felt, dried lavender and rice, you too can make these.  I think they make a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day. You can even try stitching on messages of love if you are handy with a needle.

  1. Your pocket hand warmers are so cute! I need some of those. Yesterday I checked for eggs and found one hen sitting on a couple. I picked them up and they were so warm, so they were like nature's hand warmers!

I linked up my post with some chicken portraits this week. Thanks for hosting, Melissa!

  2. I love the idea of using rice inside them, Melissa! I used to make neck warmers using whole corn and while they retained heat well, the whole house and I smell like a movie theater lobby after use! lol
