Giveaway: A BriteTap Combo Pack

January 13, 2013
It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our newest sponsor, chickenwaterer.com.  I have to tell you that their product has revolutionized my flocks’ waterer.  No matter who I talk to, providing a clean water source for your chickens is one of the difficulties that chicken keepers face. No matter the flock size, somehow traditional waterers always seem to get a bit mucky by the end of the day.  The Brite Tap waterer is now available as a smart and viable option to keep your flock’s water crystal clear and free from possible water borne illnesses.
The Brite Tap waterer can be used with an array of various types of containers.  The possibilities are endless.  The Brite Tap Combo Pack, that we are giving away, comes with the red cooler and the BriteTap waterer.
Easily assembled, the waterer is filled and place at eye level with your flock.  Once introduced, it does not take long for the chickens to get the hang of it.  They seem to learn from one another quite quickly.
It took Tilly and the girls a few hours to figure out how to use this waterer.  In the Northeast, it has been cold and the waterer has worked nicely as long as we do not go into freezing conditions.  I fill the cooler with warm water in the morning and at the end of the day, I remove it from the coop and place it in the garage to prevent it from freezing.  There are other helpful techniques on the website too to help deal with freezing temperatures.   On days when I expect icy temperatures, I use the traditional waterers.  The girls do not mind interchanging. Yet, I do have to say that I am most looking forward to filling our Brite Tap Combo Pack with cool refreshing water in the summer.  I know the girls will appreciate drinking crystal clear, chilled water from the cooler that lasts the day during the summer heat!

  1. I would love to have one of these. My girls are constantly knocking bedding and yuck into their water. It would be wonderful to give them good clean water.

  2. My flock would sure benefit from the Brite Tap water because the summer temps here get aboe 115 degrees and I could keep the water clean and cold for them.

  3. We cleaned out our coop yesterday and I was telling my online friends that clean water is the biggest challenge raising chickens. What a great idea to use a cooler. I will wait until after your drawing, but if I don't win I will definitely be buying at least one!

  4. This is awesome! Exactly what we have been looking for and didn't even know they existed. Our barn is quite a walk from the house and I think this would save us multiple trips out there to refresh the icky water in a standard waterer. Thank you for the offer!

  5. I think my chickens would benefit from this chicken waterer because it is covered and the water will stay fresh longer. It is a cooler so warm or cold water will stay warm far longer than regular waterers.

  6. Yeah! I've been looking for a way to keep my girls water clean. I have 5 now, but have 13 more coming in the spring. Even if I don't win, I'm probably going to try this out. The rubbermade container with the lid is such a great idea!! lindeloo@hotmail.com

  7. Hello Tilly's Nest! Welcome to your new sponsor, Chicken Waterer.com. Wow, this product looks awesome. My girls would love to give this a go. I am in need of an additional waterer. I could move my current (and so generic, always full of muck and shavings) one to the run and put this beauty in the coop. Clean water for my 15 layers is so important for their egg laying super powers. If I am lucky enough to win, you can reach me at thefunnyfarmwoods@gmail.com.

PS- I went over and said "Hello" to the ChickenWaterer's Facebook page and I am already a member of your fabulous blog. I LOVE it! Thanks for another great contest.

  8. My girls and I would benefit because it would keep their water cleaner-thus keeping the girls happy-thus they lay me some eggs-thus they make me happy. If I am happy my family is happy. And so on ;). tammy.quinn@gmail.com I am a follower of your blog and commented on chickenwaterer.com facebook site. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  9. My Flock would benefit from the Brite Tap Waterer because we live in AZ and our temperature goes from one extreme to the other. We have freezing temp and then 100+ plus weather. I have a bucket now with nipple waterers but they are constantly knocking it over.

  10. Hello, and thank you for this contest!! Great page and blog's!! Our flock could benefit from this as we are alway's taking in neglected bird's and this would be a great way to gaurentee fresh water at all time's!! Thank you, Amanda McNeal from IddyBit Acre's, couponcloset@yahoo.com

  11. Stopped over at the chickenwaterer.com on Facebook and said hello. Really like the idea of being able to use different containers, that you may already own, with the chicken waterer tap. My girls would benefit from access to clean fresh cooled water in the summer using a cooler w/ the tap, thats for sure, and i wouldn't need to dump and rinse out their waterer several times a day from 'stuff' that has fallen in.

Posting my why my flock could use this.
Cool water in the summer, chunk of ice in a water cooler, warmed water in the winter. Who couldn't love this? I want to get into chicken nipples instead of free standing water they can make a mess out of.

Said hi to chicken waterer on face book.

    Already am a subscriber.

    3. I would love this because we have two seperate coops and in one coop the two young ones kick everything in their waterer. Thank you so much!!!

  14. My boy likes to trash the water as soon as I put it in. The girls would certainly appreciate it if we found a way to outsmart him (he shouldn't be drinking it that way either). I have to change it all the time to keep them from taking in something nasty.

  15. Please enter me! Great give away!

We have 26 girls (chickens) They would benefit from and love the cleaner water! As you said keeping their water clean is hard.

  23. Another waterer would be great for my flock. They spend a lot of their time free ranging away from their food and water. In the summer they were drinking the AC condensation and from the pond waterfall, but I'm not sure what they're doing now.

  34. Hi, What an awesome idea! I went to chickenwaterer.com and told them Tilly sent me. I think the biggest benefit is clean water! Also, I wouldn't have to keep taking ice blocks out during a hot day to keep my girls and roo cool. I already am a blogger. Thanks, Linda email: palkrendl@hotmail.com

  35. I would love to win this. What a clever idea. I am 55 years old and have 20 chickens and no water in my coop area, so I tote hot water back and forth all winter long. Very difficult with fibromyalgia. I suscribed to your blog! If I win email me at ivywood57@yahoo.com!

  36. This is a really interesting waterer. It looks to keep the water nice and clean which in turn will keeep the chickens healthier. We could really use this, right now we have the type that the water flows out of when low and the chickens step in it and it becomes really quite nasty.
I've not seen this before , it would be awesome to be able to win one and give it a try. Thank you.
