Giveaway: Randall Burkey Prize Pack

September 11, 2012
Randall Burkey has been in the chicken business for over
sixty years.  I consider them one of our
country’s pioneers in helping thousands of people keep flocks of chickens.  We are so lucky to have them as one of our
sponsors. One of my favorite things to get in the mail is their catalog.  I just love looking through it and marking
off all the items on my wish list.  Today
we are kicking off a prize pack of three fabulous items from Randall Burkey
that include a bag of Mealworm Frenzy, a bottle of Happy Hen Coop Cleaner and Sunflower Sensation.
Mealworm Frenzy contains freeze dried meal worms that your
chickens will love.  If you are trying to
train your chickens to eat out of your hand or entice them to come close to
you, look no further.  These will help to
do just that.  Plus they are a great
source of protein that will help your flock get through their fall molt
I also am a huge fan of their Happy Hen Coop Cleaner.  It has a wonderful citrus fragrance and
tackles everything from caked on poopy to shining up your windows.  I use it to clean everything including the roosts,
walls, egg baskets and the coop floor.  I
love that it is all natural and biodegradable!
Sunflower Sensation is another wonderful “trail
mix” just for chickens.  It includes
sunflower seeds, sunflower kernels, oats, oat groats, peanuts and raisins.  What a wonderful way to spoil your chickens!
Here is how you can enter to win this prize pack!
1. Visit Randall Burkey’s website and tell me what you would put on your wish list. (1 entry)
2. Become a follower on our blog (see right side column for options) or on  Facebook. (1 entry)
3.  Leave a comment below just to enter (1 entry-mandatory).  If you did #1 or #2 let me know that too!  Please leave an email address or way to contact you so I can let you know if you win.
Good Luck!

  1. I have been a fan of Tilly's Nest for a while now and love all the informative posts. (So I did both entry requirements) I would have to choose either an incubator or any of those vintage looking tin signs for my kitchen, especially the "Granny's Kitchen"

  2. Been your fan now for sometime ..love all your great blogs & i would love any treats or feed for my flock …since im always buying it, it would be nice to win it for a change

  3. I would like an OvaScope Egg Scope. Really any egg candler but a flashlight will still work. So I did one, already follow you on Facebook and I'm commenting now. 🙂

    Thanks, Alex

  4. So many things to add to the wishlist. I would love the egg cart n chicken tractor for when I add girls to the flock and for some bug control during the summer. Nite guards and treats for the girls would also be great. I already follow your blog and follow you on facebook. Thanks for another great giveaway.

  5. You always have great and helpful information. From the website provided, I really like the treat section. My wish list would be one of every thing, but mostly the interactive treat toys. I love to give my girls treats and watch their excitement over something new! I am already a fan/follower on facebook too.

  6. Mealworm Frenzy is a must around here. I follow your blog and FB page too and I explored the Randall Burkey website too. Thank you for hosting this great giveaway.

  7. My husband was hurring me. I did let you know I did steps 1 and 2. At least I think I did 2 right. I am a follower on your page and wrote on your Down Home Blog. I didnt get to give you my email. kellybueker@ymail.com. I would love the coop cleaner. Sounds really nice!

  8. I would have to have an incubator to my wish list. How exciting it would be to actually hatch some chicks or some ducklings! I'm a new chicken mama and love it. My husband came home from a business trip and found them in a makeshift brooder in our shower. I don't think I could get away with the ducklings though.

  9. I would love to have their chicken villa and automatic coop door and timer and…well pretty much everything they carry. I follow your blog through a feed on my homepage and check to see what you and the girls are up to every morning. Keep it coming and thanks for the giveaway.

  10. I love your blog!!! Thank you for sharing. I just found it a week ago and have already learned so much. If I had to choose one thing… it would be a heated waterer for the girls. It's our first winter in Idaho and I am not sure what to expect with our sweet flock.

  11. I really enjoy reading the tantics of your flock. I have a flock of 8 and there are no egg layers yet (almost 1 year old pullets) but hey I'm patient. I follow Tilly's Nest on Facebook and your blog is outstanding and informative. Congrats on the HGTV gig. My email is omahaflash@bellsouth.net. My name is Deborah in Atlanta

  12. Your blog is wonderful. I check to see what Tilly and the other ladies are doing all the time. I just got my first 15 babies two months ago. They are so much fun! We love them all like family.

-My Wish List Item from Randall would be the Night Guard Solar Predator and Pest Control Device. I have heard a lot of good things about it and would like to have it to keep the baddies away from my babies.

-I also became a follower of your blog (officially) today.

    My email address is: thefunnyfarmwoods@gmail.com

Thanks so much! Keep those wonderful posts coming!

  13. I'm in the process of building a coop now, so of all the items RB offers I have to say baby chicks are at the top of my list. I enjoy following both your blog and FB postings, thanks for all the info and positive energy. ~Mo

  14. Our girls just love Randall Burkey's Mealy Worms. After their free-ranging, we just shake the container and they come running back to the coop, works everytime. Did visit his website, but no on #2, no Facebook for me.
Love your blog and thanks so much for the helpful information.

  15. Hi! Love your blog. My family and I are new to chickens this year. Our flock is 6 months old today. We haven't had them long but oh how we love them! Since I'm just learning your blog is very helpful. We have 27 chickens! Just visited Randall Burkey's website and could spend a lot there. Of course we could use treats and feed for our flock, but also love the egg scale and need cartons. I am following your blog now. It will be a good resource for us. Thanks!
