Giveaway: Worms and Harvest Flakes

August 17, 2012

If you are like us, we love to spoil our chickens!  One of our favorite companies helping us to do just that is Treats for Chickens.  Even before they became a sponsor of ours, we have been loyally placing orders for so many of their amazing products.

One of our girl’s favorite products is the Worms and Harvest Flakes.  Made with assorted oats, wheat and dried meal worms this product is perfect for a protein punch as your flock begins to enter molting season.  Molting season can be a very stressful time for your flock with the demand for both new feather production and eggs.  This is one treat that I feel good about sharing with my flock as it’s crude protein analysis is 53%!

Our girls love the Worms and Harvest Flakes…
tossed directly into the run.
mixed with a cup of plain yogurt.
sprinkled into warm oatmeal in the winter.
sprinkled on top of scrambled eggs.
added into a treat ball mixed with some scratch.

Today’s giveaway is for a 3 pound 5 oz bucket, a $39.99 value, surely enough to get you through molting season.

Here’s How to Enter:

1.  Become a fan of Treats for Chickens on Facebook and tell them Tilly sent you. (1entry)
2.  Follow our blog (1entry).
3.  Visit Treats for Chickens and find a product you would like to try. (1 entry)
4.  Leave a comment here below this post with an email address to reach you  (1 entry).  If you have done any or all of the above, please mention it in your comment.  Thank you.

Good Luck!

Contest ends 8/23/12 at 12 midnight EST.  Item ships to US address only. 1 entry per person.

  3. My chickens love treats. I'm always concerned I'm giving them too many treats though. I've heard people have hens that stop laying because of too many treats. Is this something to be concerned about?

Also, I liked Treats for Chickens on facebook, followed your blog, and the chicken crack does sound mighty interesting to try!

  5. Long time follower and one of Tilly's biggest fans. My chickens are so spoiled. When I go to our local bulk food store my daughter loves to gather the bags of extras for our chicken like millet, flax, sunflower seeds to add to their feed. They would love these treats I am sure.

  6. Worms & Harvest Flakes would make my chickens do the "chicken dance" since they go crazy for mealworms. The combo looks healthy and easy to sprinkle in a hand to help tame them! Count me in for your promo because I was a good girl and followed all your steps:

  12. I have done all 4, funny but I had just ordered their lettuce, cabbage holders a few weeks ago :)….chickens loved them once they found them. I think sometime I would love to try the chicken treat with the kelp…I think all that sea nutrients would be wonderful as a good boost for the chickens especially during a stress moment…which at the end of Sept I am moving to a off grid farm in NY from Mass & taking the chickens with me….something like the kelp treats would be something very good for them the next day after….thank you for offering this give away 🙂

  13. Would love to try the Worms and Harvest Flakes. My Silkies love grapes every night, but they may become a little pricey this winter :O It's always fun trying something new.

  20. Love your blog and facebook page. I liked Treats for Chickens way back when you first started talking about them and love all their items. Silly story but my girls always seem to bury their treat ball and I can't find it now that we have moved, so I think I might have left it at the old house. So, if I don't find it soon, I am going to have to order them another one!

Completed 1-4 for the contest. Crossing my fingers…

  21. I am already a fan and a blog follower and now a new follower of Treats for Chickens! Thank you for introducing me to them! I would really like to try the Harvest Flakes and Worms 🙂 I love the fact that they are organic. Thank you for the chance to win:)
