Chickens Don’t Carry IPhones

“Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back, and
realize they were the big things.”  ~Unknown

Chickens don’t text.

Chickens never write emails.
Chickens rarely sweat the small stuff.
Chickens don’t watch T.V.
Chickens never stay inside all day.
Chickens don’t gossip.
Chickens don’t have debt.
Chickens don’t carry credit cards.
Chickens don’t drive cars.
Chickens don’t need fancy houses.
Chickens love nature.
Chickens love fresh air.
Chickens always communicate in “person”.
Chickens are patient and understanding.
Chickens are great teachers.
Chickens never rush.
Chickens diligently scratch and peck and never have deadlines.
Chickens have snacks and meals together.
Chickens keep strict bedtimes.
Chickens take care of their young and old.
Chickens value family.
Chickens remember to snuggle.
Chickens are great friends to one another.
Chickens respect authority and the pecking order.
Chickens never go to bed mad.
Chickens are the first to forgive.
Chickens are simple.
You can learn a lot about life from watching and living with chickens.

  1. AWESOME points about how we should sometimes stop and look to our chickens for guidance 🙂 I especially love the one about bedtime– I don't think I've ever seen anyone (human or animal!) who keeps a stricter bedtime schedule! Haha!

p.s. My girls LOVED the chicken oatmeal– I think it helped them warm up a little, and luckily it's warmed up a whole lot here so they've been a bit more comfortable, which makes me feel so much more at ease 🙂 Have a great day!

  2. I'm not sure about "chickens don't gossip" My chickens NEVER EVER STOP TALKING. What on earth are they talking about all day? Some of it is gossip I think. As a matter of face, I'm certain that Nancy is gossiping about the other two when she runs to me with big stories when I go outside.

    🙂

  3. Love this! I have likened my chickens to a bunch of really great toys that get scattered about on the ground each day and they put themselves back up on the shelf every night! They're the perfect "toy"!

  4. You are soo right about this but I must say I had a roo who loved watching TV…for some reason he loved when NCIS came on…lol…& there is nothing more heart warming when they all run up to you talking a mile a minute for the treats you bring them…..I do know that raising chickens has really changed my life for the good these last 4 years & they are something that will never be gone from me in my lifetime now…
Same Roo also loved to ride in my car…nothing funnier than seeing a big buff orpington in the passenger seat of a red toyota to make people smile.
