This week, I’m sharing how I created these sweet, personalized place settings for the Thanksgiving table. It all started with a trip to a local flea market with my dear friend, Deb at Dandelion House. I discovered a set of these amber glass dessert dishes. I was smitten and scored the entire set of 12 for only $20! I added some succulents, moss, a white gourd, and designed this adorable chalkboard squirrel; just perfect for a name.
This week, I am sharing a Giving Tree that I created for HGTV Gardens. The Giving Tree can be placed practically anywhere in your home. The tree starts out empty of leaves. Over time, family and visitors can add leaves to the tree by adding messages of thanks and giving to paper leaves and then hanging them on the tree. We are starting a new tradition in our house by adding this tree to our Thanksgiving table. I am looking forward to seeing what my guest, family and children write on the leaves. I’m also going to save the leaves from year to year. It will be a wonderful way to reflect on special memories made around the table.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving with our loved ones later this week, I wanted to take a moment and give thanks to each and every one of you. Home has so many special meanings to me and my flocks, both feathered and human. It is incredibly symbolic for so many reasons and having you part of this blog has brought great joy, comfort, inspiration and lessons not only into my life but to many others who visit each week.
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Soon enough, we will all take the time to gather with our loved ones around the table and give thanks.
I have so much to be thankful for this year in my life outside of the chickens. However, I do have a lot to be thankful for regarding the chickens as well. Our family has been blessed and is incredibly thankful for all of the the wonderful things that the chickens have brought into our lives. We have had a fabulous times raising them from little chicks and we have learned so much from them since this past Spring. They have touched all of our hearts and we have learned life’s lessons from them as well. We are thankful for their presence in our lives and are looking forward to many more chances to grow together as a family in our chicken adventures.
Have a wonderful Thanksgving!
