I tend to keep things that most people would consider junk or recyclable. You never know when you can upcycle items into beautiful crafting creations. Some of my favorite items to keep are the glass jars and their lids from foods. Salsa jars are perfect! I remove the labels, wash them in the dishwasher, and set them aside for crafting projects, like these upcycled spring terrariums.
Each miniature terrarium is filled with pebbles, activated charcoal, and soil. Sometimes, I add small plants and other times skip the plants and just opt for moss and decorative accessories, like these wee mushrooms.
For the lids, I upcycled old forgotten plastic play figurines from the kids’ toy box.
Of course, the hen and chicks one is my favorite!
