Can you sometimes grow a bit impatient waiting for your garden to come into harvest? I admit that often, just the anticipation of freshly grown organic produce from my backyard leaves me wanting time to fly so that I can create, cook and make all sorts of lovely fresh dishes.
I love the concept of this book and the 50 crops that it shares. All the details are included on how to plant, grow and care for plants that are ready in hours, days and weeks. I am excited about trying some of their growing techniques. Space limitations are not an issue and I also love the idea of harvesting some plantings earlier than suggested.
Right from the beginning, I love the color photography, easy explanations and delicious uncomplicated recipes. This book has peeked my interest in growing sprouts again, only using their better improved methods.
I also can't wait to dig in and try some of the edible flower recipes. I always have plenty of Nasturtium around with the chickens.
I can only imagine my children eating brownies with beets hidden in the batter. This is a true win-win situation if you ask me!
Finally, some of these nut recipes have really peeked my interest. I can't wait to try soaking nuts and seeing how their texture and taste change.
