Spring Flower Arranging

February 27, 2013

Over the past few weeks, we have had some major doses of snow and wintry weather in the Northeast.  Feeling frustrated, I went to Trader Joes’ and picked up some spring blooms. I also trimmed some budding Forsythia branches from a bush in my yard to create this cheery spring bouquet.  Spring flowers always brighten my day, no matter how gloomy it is outside. I shared how I created this bouquet and a few others from the same stems over on HGTV Gardens this week.

I know spring should be arriving here with warmer temperatures around the beginning of April. There are signs everywhere as I look around.  The days are getting longer.  The sun seems to be shining more strongly  and yesterday morning when I was outside, I could smell spring in the air.  I know the wild birds could sense it too!

  1. Oooo, so pretty. I must plant some of that magenta Stock in my garden this year.

I had a guy build some raised planter boxes for veggies and I'm itching to get them going but I keep hitting the nursery and it's just too soon in the season. They don't have what I want in the nurseries yet.
